This is my proud set of three, all blue, and mixed with the same glaze, only in different orders. The aim is to give a thoughtful feeling kinda like looking out into the sea. These are two bowls and a vase, all three fit together and match in color which is why this classifies at my set of tree.

This is my first attempt at making my own Frankenpot . Sadly it didn't dry correctly and I had to attatch it using glaze and firing it together. Both of the cylinders were thrown by me and the writing says (believe, never give up, rule yourself) the blue is due to the ability to see writing.
This is my wheel altered project, I was able to mix three glazes together and came out with an earthy like color that I enjoy. I also took up the idea of shaving lines into it and inside on the bottom it says smile. The waves and and smile engraved are meant to show the sun and brightness along with the color( tree like color)
For this project I finally was able to make a vase I'm proud of. The lip is a bit off but practice makes perfect and this vase has the circular shape Ive been trying to get for the longest time. The color is a solid metallic brown giving a earthy nature tone. I practiced the lip making for the biggest challenge of this vase and although not perfect, better than most vases Ive attempted.
This is my tall project, for this piece I tried to balance it a bit off center to try and give it the creative and abstract look. The carvings into the side are just one straight line following it all the way up and the color is a basic white. Creativity was less of an objective for this project and the priority was to get back into the groove of things.
This is my second bowl project, this project was one of my first that I tried to put more effort into the glazing and have a futuristic and controlled feeling. The cooler colors represent the calmness of the piece and I learned about making edges instead of lines.
This is my first ceramics project and first bowl of the year. I started out rusty but I'm gaining back my skills at a quick rate and tried a new style of glazing trying to have two color blend in as one. Hopefully soon I can become better with the rip tool and have the ability to throw even better looking bowls then this one |
