Some examples that show me improving on my projects is one of the biggest projects I made which was a bowl thrown on the wheel. For a while pulling up a wall was a very complicated and hard thing for me to do. But I think discovered a new technique with the rib tool that improved my bowl a massive amount. I think practiced throwing a vase which took a long, long time and I still have a lot of room for improvement but have grown in that area as well.
After that I decided that I needed to try to expand my glazing skills. For a couple of my projects I decided to try and make a pattern like design and use different, bright colors that made the project have a cheerful and excited feeling to the piece. The texture of the projects with this design were smooth and mean't to be clean cut. Towards the end of the semester I also started to try carving in designs with a stick took and pressing it slightly in the project, while spinning it on the wheel. When glazing it I used detailed glazes such as green, red, purple, and yellow.
My theme helped me improve my skills as an artist. This year I discovered a new hobby for myself and I dove into it and found an amazing class that I enjoy so much. I looked and try to improve in whatever way I can from pulling better, to glazing with detail ,t o making projects I could never make and forcing myself to expand my creativity. So with a final look on myself as an artist, and as someone who has a passion for this class. I can say that I am happy with how far I've come, and can't wait to improve my skill even more next year,
